On my motherboard, i have the following fan plugins....i have 2 chasis fan plugins, a cpu plugin and a power plugin. I never used the power plugin cuz i dont know where it goes into. It is a 3 pin plug and i have anything to plug into it, so i didnt. Plz let me know wuts its for and ill hook it up.

you plug the power supply into it if your power supply has a wire for it. mine does. i guess it allows the system to see the speed of the fan, maybe temp too (not sure).

Many power supplies will include a 3-pin connector for monitoring the fan speed. It looks like this:

If your PSU has one, you can plug it into that connector to allow the motherboard to monitor speed of the PSUs fan. If your PSU doesn't include one, you can just ignore it.

yea its not required. i never use any of the fan ports except for the cpu one, if i even use that. i have a fan controller though, thats why.
