is there away to control the speed of my 120mm fan that came with my antec sonata case? do i have to connect it to the motherboard?

most motherboard will have a few pin sets to plug in fan, its called channel fans for mine. Its a three pin connector. Look on ur mobo for pins like than. I wish i had a pic for u.

Does your fan only have a molex connector? or the smaller three pin ones that plug into mobos?

If you can't plug it to the mobo, you'll have to get a fan controller so you can plug it with the molex plugs.

no the only cord coming from the fan is the power cord. wouldn't it be cheaper to get a new fan rather than getting a fan controller?

Well, if you plug your fan into the motherboard, then you will be able to control the fan using the freewear Speedfan you can get it on Free downloads encyclopedia - Softpedia It will also tell you the temparature of the fans, and you will be able to controll other fans (like your CPU) (sorry for the wierd link, i don't know wjhy it does that) softpedia.com is the site i want to tell you)

When you say "power cord" you mean the molex plug right?

And your right, it would be cheaper to get a fan that can plug to the motherboard.
