Fanless mobo ??

I wonder if processor that sit in fanless mobo (heat pipe, stack cool, etc) still uses a fan (fan for the processor itself).

Then what is the meaning of "Fanless" ??

I got confused here. Because so many motherboards features a fanless design. If there is a fan in fanless mobo it's not fanless anymore right ??

Just because the motherboard doesn't have a fan doesn't mean you HAVE to use a fan on the processor. There are a few heatsync's that can run without the fan. I beleive my old Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 could of. However, besides fans, what about water cooling. People probably get fanless boards to go with a water cooled system

Isn't water cooling expensive ?
I thought the fanless mobo provides a totally fanless system without the need of further addition. But I guess it's wrong.

It means theres no fan on the northbridge chip on the motherboard

Fanless means no fan and has heatpipes so the heat can get to A to B very fast . It get's cooled by your CPU fan (bad) or just putting a over on the heatsinks
