Fanning like Peyton Manning?

I am now looking at fans for my new build. I am getting two 2000 rpm case fans and I do not know what other fans and heatsinks to get. What is the difference between a fan and a heatsink and is this the only thing that cools the system down?

How do you know what fans are compatible with a mobo and RAM?

A fan is simple - it's just a fan that can be mounted just about anywhere. Almost any fan will be comatible with you motherboard, fan compatibilty is not something to worry about. A heatsink is placed on top of your CPU and a fan is usually put on top of the heatsink if it doesn't already come with one. This keeps your CPU cool. If you have high speed hard drives you may consider HDD cooling fans, but again this isn't that big of a deal if you have a good case.

You can also liquid cool your system. There are pros and cons. A liquid cooling system will provide more cooling and if great for OC'ing, but you risk the possibilty of a leak, and it becomes harder to transport your case. Liquid cooling is also expensive. Hope this helps...
