Far Cry 2 problems...

Ive been playing it fine for 2 days, got up to 16%. Once i had to restart my comp. because it would get stuck at the loading screen and wouldn't do anything. i left for 30 minutes and it still wouldnt load. after the restart it worked fine. Until today, when i saved, quit and did some other stuff. I loaded the game back up, loaded my game and now it just hangs at the loading screen with the little circle spinning and the journal text... ive restarted 4 times because i couldnt even get out of the game. Please help! Game is patched to latest version and i pass the minimum requirements. Guess i shouldnt buy ubisoft games anymore. Anyway, PLEASE HELP.
 
Bump and update.
I downloaded a 96% save file and sometimes it still wont load. After that i reinstalled and both saves worked, now i'm back where i started. none will work.
I'm desperate. please post any ideas you have.
 
Sorry i dont know about the problem.....but are you running that game on Intergrated gfx like your specs says? :eek:

that may cause problems..

Have just tried to play today.
Exact sypmtoms are:
Game loads up fine, i select load game. it shows my my only save file. I click on it and click load. It starts loading, displaying the spinning circle, the story, and some nice pictures. when it gets to the third picture my save file usually loads. but it doesn't. instead, the HDD has no activity and the loading circle is still spinning, with the africa music playing, and then it just sits there until i hold the power button. i even left for a full hour to make sure...
and nothing.
Aside from the great number of bugs, the game is very enjoyable.

Well, its actually a little under minimum, but i have solved the problem. I ran the game with the disc in the drive and everything has worked flawlessly.

anyway, specs are:

Pentium 4 2.66ghz
768mb ram
radeon x1650 pro
windows xp

Even though i'm under the minimum, the game runs perfectly on the lowest settings and 1024x768 resolution, the max my monitor supports....
i need a new monitor!
 
damn that system is amazing for standing up to the game and running it!!

If you had have said "these are my specs, will it run" I would have deffinately have said no.

Do you not have lag issues though even on low?
 
There are some issues, mainly with scenes with heavy fire. I also had physics on very high, texture settings on medium
