Far Cry (original) isn't working.

I installed it and ran the 1.4 patch that i downloaded, but the game doesn't work. I open it and then it just sits at a black screen and i have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of it.
Any ideas? I tried reinstalling... maybe the game doesnt like dualcores?
 
Man this is what is happening for my COD5, maybe games in Australia are just stuffing up right now?

Have you re-installed it or something, restarted?
 
Tried both... also, hitman blood money is failing to start... this is a fresh system, only installed O/S a few days ago.

Dude area the games on a second hard drive, like were they on D: (or w/e) then you installed the new O/S on your C?
That can mess it up
OR
the games don't like you/your new system.:P
