Far Cry problems

Hey,

I downloaded a singleplayer trial of Far Cry today and when i launch the game all i get is a grey screen then nothing.

if i press escape it just returns back to my desktop.

Whats going on?

try right clicking the shortcut to far cry and click properties and set it to run in windows 98 compatibility mode

Tried that mate,
I tried all that was on the list ...windows 95,98,2000 and still only grey screen

I cant see this been a graphics card problem because on windows game adviser it says my system will be able to play it.

There again it says that for every game on Windows game adviser

I got Far Cry for 5 quid from Virgin Megastores, not impressed with it at all
