I just bought an Asus A7V600-X motherboard. I have an
Athlon Thunderbird 900 MHz, 2 x 256 DDRAM at 266 MHz
(different types V-data and another one),
Geforce 4MX440 with 64Mb RAM, 64 bit, WD Caviar 40 Gb
with 8 Mb cache and i'm running Wn2000 professional
with SP4. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and
motherboard drivers. Whenever i watch a film, the film
jumps forward a second or two, several times during
the film. It annoys me very much. I tried several
codecs but still the same. UDMA is enabled both for
the HDD and my DVD-RW. Can anyone help me?
A friend of mine has the same motherboard with Win XP
and he has the same problem.

Thanks.

It annoys me very much. I tried several
codecs but still the same.
1. What codec does the movie actually need?
2. Use that codec ... pilling a crapload of codecs on the system will more likely result in cross-codec incompatability issues rather than being able to play anything.
3. For the most part, you can get rid of your codecs and make use of FFDSHOW http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow to watch movies
