i got into a conversation with a telewaest guy and he said that people are now using cat5 connections with high speed connections, is this true

We've used cat5 with cable in our home for years, this isn't anything new. Even when we only had DSL we wired our home with cat5. our new house was built with the wiring already installed, it's an option alot of places offer (we used keller williams)
