Ok so here my story. I live in Twentynine Palms in the middle of nowhere and we have no land line and no Fiber Optic lines, the city wont pay to put any in because theres not enough houses in my area. So of course I bought into Hughes Net thinking it was gonna solve my problem, I was wrong. The service is terrible but im not gonna get into that. Im a gamer and I want to play xbox live, Guild Wars, WoW, Ect. but the internet is to slow and I lag very bad, especially on live. Is there any options I have to get good gaming speed with satellite internet?

Satelllite internet will have bad latencies and would be terrible for gaming. You may be out of luck if you can't get dsl or cable internet.

Satelite would be very bad for internet gaming, throughput can be good but response times are generally terrible. I would try and find a faster cable provider in your area.

Did you read his post? There is no cable or DSL service in his area.

How is cell reception around you? a 3G/4G modem is really your only other alternative, although depending on the service and signal it may be worse.

Satelite internet latencies cannot be reduced, as they are limited by the speed of light. The satelites are a thousands of miles out, in a geostationary orbit, and it takes nearly a second for the information to get to the satelite, and vice versa.

try to get WiMax its better and fast
I love how these people are coming on and posting solutions without even reading the OP's original statement. HE LIVES IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, there aren't other cable providers, and there certainly is no WiMax.
