in my 110, i get the XP screen 4 like 5-10 secs., and in my 240, i have the XP screen 4 like 20 secs., why is this? my 240 is way faster, and they both have the same RPM HD's. but my 110 does have 128MB's over the 240. anybody know?
 
The loading time is based on what Windows has to load. So if your GX240 has more programs that run on startup, then it will take longer to load. Also, if you've had Windows installed on your GX240 significantly longer then the GX110, that is also why.
 
i think XP has been on the 110 longer, i bought both pre-installed. and in the All Programs>Startup, theres nothing in there on both computers, or do i have 2 go through MSCONFIG?
 
For one defragment the drive, I have heard defraging the boot fiels also helps but not much for me.

Then take off all the programs in startup and the nonmicrosoft ones in services in start run msconfig like mentioned byyourself and omega.
 
just whaever you do dont download any programs that say they can "dramatically decrease your boot time", its a load of crap, we can do a lot better than they can
