well everytime i installed xp ive always use ntfs but wanted to see whats the major dif between the two and wich is more useful format to install...

also i got windows xp x64 and my system such as mobo and cpu is 64bit compatible so i kinda wanted your alls opinion if i should wait till vista or go ahead and put it on... also windows vista is 64 bit right?

ntfs is large storeage
Fat32 is files under 7 gig

and win64 is bad at the moment it has lots of errors so i would wait untill 64 is fix or visa is out

Hmmm

Actually, I heard that FAT32 is a better performer when partitions are below 20GB. That came from a gaming website. However, naturally, NTFS is a better choice for modern configuarations and is native to the Windows XP OS.

i have 2 hardrives, they are both 80GBs and, the one with windows on it is ntfs, the other one (backup :D) is fat32. never have noticed any difference with them. i still like ntfs better for general everything, unless u are running 300 partitions for little things.
