Faulty temp sensor?

Installed HWMonitor and Speedfan, the former reports TMPIN2 is at 128 C constantly, and the latter reports Temp 3 as -128 C :/

I've had no instabilities on my system so these obviously can't be correct. Since both programs report this error I'm assuming the 3rd temp sensor is broken.

Does anyone know what this sensor corresponds to (SB, ambient, etc.)? My motherboard is an ASUS M4A77T if that helps.

Thanks.

Have to see a screen shot to know for sure. But its probably the power supply temp reading. If it doesnt have a sensor or cant read it. It will give off a over the top high reading like that.

It is probably your power supply.

The program has found it, but can't use it, or thinks there is one there, when there isn't, so it displays the anomolous result you are getting. It isn't anywhere near that, if it were your system would shut down or fail spectacularly, so you shouldn't worry about it, your other temps are all fine

Pretty sure its a off power supply reading. Notice how Speedfan has it as -128. Dont worry about it. Like said if it was really 128 it would have done died.
