Favorite CPU Fan

Hey guys. Just wondering what ya'lls favorite CPU fan was. I'm in need of a new one really bad and I want a really nice one that I can take out of this system and put into my future AM2 computer. Right now I'm hearing good things about the Zalman CNPS9500.

What do you guys think? Favorites? Comments?

Thanks!

my cousin has one similar to that. the difference is that his points toward the side of the case, whereas that one points toward the back. his is super quiet though and cools really well.

I have a coolermaster hyper 48 and it works really well. . .

Note: you have to take that pussy hyper 4 fan off and get a good one to get good results otherwise its really quite and doesn't cool that great.

My favorite is the stock heatsink and fan. Average CPU temp idle is ~8C.
typo or do you keep it outside in New Hampshire during the winter?
And I installed a zalman 8500 I think it was, it has a 120mm fan so whichever one that was, it keeps things pretty cool

@suprasteve: CNPS 7700.
My favourite HSF is the Intel retail one that came with my celery 1,7GHz. Allows me to OC to 2041MHz stable at 30C idle/46C load.

no typo, i just hooked up a $7 dryer vent to my case fan so it draws in cold air from outside. Works extremely well. Coldest its been so far was 4C for the CPU, and 29C for the GPU (it was around 20F outside).

I have a coolermaster one, and it keeps my Semperon 3100+ thats OCed in the high 20C's and low 30C's while ehavy usage.

It says ti will work on the M2 when it comes out.

Thermaltake Big Typhoon. Lowest ive had is 21 Degrees, Its at 29 at the moment because all my cables are messed up (Ive just rebuilt my comp)

When I look for a new CPU fan, should I look at weight? The Thermaltake Big Typhoon is supposedly heavy and bends you mobo, according to a review. Anyone know how much the zalman weighs compared to the big tyhpoon?

alot less.....

i have an Aerocool HT-101, idles at 33 and cost me £20 off ebay!

it is a little top heavy, but not so much as the typhoon and has room to fit 2 8cm fans, im currently running one but i have a vantec thunder fan on the way for the other side, then i will see what it idles at, alot less i should hope!!

ht-101 is cheap, but was very hard to fit, zalman are the daddy's, would have bought one but didnt have the ££££

Overclocked to 2.6 GHz from 1.8, I wasn't hitting above 40. It's really quiet too, even if you have a nice 120mm on top.

Are u gonna be upgrading when AM2 comes out, Xycron?
No, when the M2 come's out, I'll be getting a socket 939 Athlon64, unless the M2 takes over a year to come out...Then I'll get one in prabally around 6 months.
