favorite monitor aspect ratio poll

monitors were originally 4x3, then lcd monitors started going 5x4 (and were primarily 1280x1024), now a days monitors are either 8x5 (16x10) or 16x9. the way i see it, 5x4 monitors are best for dual monitoring, 4x3 are best for rts games, 8x5 are best when they are the only monitor and for first person/third person games, and 16x9 are good for movies and tv. what is your favorite?

also, u should put 16x10 instead of 8x5, i'm slow today.

i think 4x3 is best for rts, because the controls are on the bottom, making the camera wide. 16x10 is already wide and having the controls on the bottom makes the camera extremely wide, and top down view doesn't benefit from a wide camera.

i say 8x5 instead of 16x10 because ratios are always reduced. 16x10 is just to compare it to 16x9. (which i admit i'm doing.)

it just depends on the monitor you're using..and wouldn't we all want a bigger monitor?

right now I'm running 1680X1050 on a 22" (and 1280X720 on my 26" TV for movies) but I plan on getting a pair of 23 or 24's to run 1920X1080 on.
