I've been having some problems with my PC and finally decided to just create the ISO, burn that to a DVD and reinstall without saving anything. When I opened the browser after reinstalling, I was surprised to find all my "Favorites" still there. Does Microsoft save those (and what other data?) somewhere (in the Cloud?) and just load them back in?

Did you format your hard drive or just install Windows over your existing install?
If you use Windows 8/8.1/10 and sign in with a LiveID it would not surprise me if that was sync'd to the cloud.
