FEAR 2: Project Origin

i just downloaded and install the demo of FEAR 2. below are some screenshots with fps stated at the left corner. I maxed out everything but was playing on 1280x1024 in windows XP. i think i should get a better framerate if i play on vista, which make better use of my hardware (my vista is screwed at the moment)

My specs are:
Core 2 Quad 6600 @ 2.4
Asus 9600gt
2gb RAM (not sure what's the speed)
Win XP SP2
 
Nice. If you try it in vista the graphic should be better since directx10.1 is alot better than 9. I heard it also increase game fps.

Same for me, I hate this genre of games. Last time I played this kind of game I almost break my mouse wire. xD

hehe. the last time i asked my mom to try out fatal frame 3 on ps2, she threw the remote on the floor when it vibrated (it means a ghost was near) :P:D:D:D:D

edit: there were scarier moments in the demo but it happened so fast, couldnt capture the screenshot. i think it was the older version of alma. she appeared when the light flashed on and off.

aye. adult version of alma is creepy! well, the kid version too. i don't know how many times i jumped from my seat from playing the first F.E.A.R. and both expansions. i love these kinds of games, i love horror games! :D

Damn, i love the new hud. you have oakley shades or something like that. :P

oh, you meant cap for FRAPS. i thought you were referring to FEAR 2. i dont think there is a frame cap for FRAPS. i mean while playing NFS undercover, there are times when the fps jumps to 200+.
 
im getting 60fps basicly all the time in this game...is that the cap?

im impressed so far it looks great at all maxed out at 1680x1050 with 4x AA

only thing i dont like about this game....again its too dark in some places and the flashlight doesnt help much.

yeah, it is indeed quite dark. i think you can change the brightness in the option menu. as for the frame cap, im gettin a 75fps cap. other than that, game is great. really like the animation for the guns (the flare of the bullet leaving the barrel). looks very cool

Reminds me of the Doom 3 flashlight.
 
am I the only one here that thinks FEAR would be better if it focused on normal combat instead of trying to do two things at once (Stephan King-esque little girl on the ceiling...and normal but awesome fps)
