Note quite sure which board to post this: Well...I did all my research and stuff and already purchased but I want some feed back on my new build: It is used for a little gaming, nothing much, lots of video-editing(trailers and other cool stuff) a little bit of photo-editing, I use visual studio, and some 3d editors like google sketch-up and trial version of CAD, I just like to play around with software and learn how to use it and all :) So in more specifics here the main apps I run
-Two operating systems as a dual boot:
-Linux Fedora Core 11
-Microsoft Windows XP, will switch to windows 7 upon offical release! I want to skip vista entirely cause i am not very fond of it, I tried 7 beta and it looks way better so far.
-Processor: Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66ghz, (might clock it to 3.0ghz in the future)

-RAM: 12GB OCZ 1600mhz

-Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 socket motherboard with an intel x58 chipset.

-Hard Drive: Hitachi Ultrastar 147GB 15,000rpm SATA II 3GB/s with a 16mb cache (I was thinking of a solid state, but a similar size solid state, 160gb cost literally almost 4 times as much, this way I get a really fast hard drive, plenty of space and for a good price), I made two partitions for xp and linux!

-Power Supply: Coolermaster 800watt

-Graphics Adapter: EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 640mb (looks like a weak old card, but its not, I play at 1080p 1920x1080, 23'' monitor and it maxes out most games I play except for crysis and couple others, its factory o'erclocked I am not a huge enthusiast and me even playing on medium-low settings is fine, and the fact that this card gives me highs on most games is big plus :), I am getting a GTX260 card soon though, once I feel this one is getting to weak for my needs, and i kept it from my old computer, and now its even more powerful, since it was bottlenecked heavily by my weak, slow processor and ram, and was in pci-e 1 slot instead of 2.0 slot :)

-Thats it :) I guess i dont need to tell about the case(normal thermaltake xaser case or something like that...) and all the other accesories...Total was approximatly 1200bucks including every part inside the computer and the case, this price does not include mouse, pad, keyboard, monitor...etc which I already had :)

-Thank you for any feedback!

Everything looks pretty freaking good. You did a good job. Although don't you think that 12GB for memory is a little bit of an overkill..? lol :) But it's all good. More RAM the better I guess..
Although, I would have highly recommended that you went with Western Digital instead of Hitachi because of how FANTASTIC WD is. They last pretty much forever. So in the future, think Western Digital.

Wow, that setup is prety amazing, i agree with aviation man, i have a WD drive and so far it worked perfectly, had it for a few years now.

Good luck playing around with software!!!

Yeah, thanks, as I said, gaming is really not important to me, I dont play much, thats why I left my old GPU alone, it works fine and does everything I want it to do smoothly :)
-Since I did not upgrade my GPU, I spent the extra on some more ram, which i really need cause I am a big multitasker I run IE8 with like 5-6tabs, + like 10 apps which are all processor and ram intensive so I need plenty of ram, a good processor, and since I needs quite some space and didn't want to spend 300bucks on good solid state, so I just bought a big and fast hard drive :), I was going to go for a WD velocirapter but all of them appeared to be 10k not 15k and since I need hard drive performance more then video, I wanted a 15k and couldn't find a WD that was that, the only ones I found was fijitsu, hitachi, and hp. Well either way, I made a complete recovery image with Ghost, so if my drive goes back, I got all my other stuff backed up! And update back-up every 24hours with robocopy schdeduled and all, so if drive goes bad, I will switch to a velocirapter 10k.

nice Well prepared for the unforseen, and you are right about the WD not having the 15k drives, but as i needed space not speed, i went for it. And again nice set up with back up and everything.

I use IE8 becuase it comes with windows and its fast, IE7 was crap and slow, but the new IE8 is really good, its fast, responsive, and since 99.999percent of all websites make plugins, scripts, and add-ons for Microsoft's IE8, it will support the most stuff on websites. And I did test it, IE8 works faster for me then firefox 3.5, it renders my pages faster, and either way, Safari is the king of all browsers, it might not support many plugins becuase its really new but its by far the fastest browser for windows :) And I benchmarked Firefox 3.5, chrome, opera, IE8, safari and it was the king.
