Im new with servers and i had a few questions. I downloaded a few server programs, and know to make an https site you have to get an ssl certificate. Also you have to buy a domain name to connect to your ip server. ok so here it is:
1. How can you go about creating one of these types of sites. How do the people that give out domain names and ssl certificates go about doing that?
2. Can add an https section to my website for free?
3. Why is apache so popular? I downloaded and installed it and dont understand it all. I think their website is hard to navigate, i probably downloaded the wrong link. Can somone please send me the link to the proper download link just for a simple http server? Also is their like any tutorials or manuals for apache anyone knows of online(simple ones not the huge manual at apache.org)?

Ok, now i have a few scripting questions
1. How can i create an auto member creating system? Kind of like one this site. Where you fill out the form and a confirmation email the password with a confirmation link and suff.
2. does anyone know of any online tutorial that can help with using photoshop to create menus for the site. I downloaded templates but i want to make somthing unique using photoshop.
any links to online tutorials would help as well as answering the questions. Thanks for any help, i need it
