Fiber Optic Cable Cutting

I have some bulk fiber optic cable. I am curious if there is a special way I need to cut this? Basically I'm just running it through walls for now, not terminating the ends. So I wasn't sure if a sharp scissors is fine for now, then take more care when putting ends on down the road?

What specific grade of cable do you have? I'm assuming it's MMF? Why do you need fiber specifically?

It'd be more cost effective to just run UTP, the equipment to fuse fiber is pretty expensive.
Also you could argue if you already knew how to terminate the ends then you'd know this

Yes, you should be fine doing this, but you want/need to be a lot more careful and precise when cutting it to terminate it onto connector ends. There is a good guide on it here:

Is this just for home use? The cost of terminating the fiber and GBICs are a lot more than CAT6.
