is not completely true though even cable in not include on the list i can grab a 5gb file in less then 2 hours.

It shouldnt be faster, I think the reason they are starting to use fiber optics for comunications because its cheaper/easier than traditional copper and silver.

Oh and what download speed you getting kof, I usualy get half a meg per second.

Okay, there are companies throughout the world spending Millions to begin creating fiber optic networks. Fiber optics is the future. It is A LOT FASTER than traditional cable and VDSL or any other DSL. In the recent past fiber optic cables were limited to a turning radius of 6 feet... that makes it quite difficult to throw into a house. As the technology advances Fiber Optics will be the future. In southern nevada a company is running fiber optic wire into new homes and charging $13.99 a month at 10Mbps(infoworld.com).

Hewlett-Packard and Oracle are looking at 155Mbps... Fiber Optics can theoretically pass the 1Tbps marker. Its the future.
