File FOrmat wont Change

I tired to change the format of this OGM file to .avi I tpyed .avi in its name so it woudl change but it didnt. How can i change it?
 
open a folder, go to tools folder options, and deselect hide file extension for known file types. then you will see filename.ogm and you can rename this easily to filename.avi .
 
Lol thnsk i changed it to avi and real paler cant play it. Is there anything that can paly ogm files causse i looked up ogm thanks to slothx311 and it is a media file but i cant find a program to paly it
 
search the net for files called OGGDS0995.exe or oggds0996.exe

they will contain the necessary directshow drivers for the audio part.

ffdshow will be the best choice for video playback
 
I have fdd showw In Fact I got matroska full package its got everythign besoide that ogg stuff Thanks. Wait i jsut relized what u gave me wqas only for the audio rendering what do i get for the video rendering

LOL you cant just do that! You're gonna need to transcode it hehe. Not sure if VirtualDubMod can do it (should be able to) but if not, TMPGEnc, which isnt as fast, can do it

Granted you can rename it but that doesnt make it an AVI file :P

Having "all them codecs" tends to be a problem with lots of people... more is not better as then tend to conflct with each other
 
Is there anything that can paly ogm files? cause converting them like what praetor said is a lil bit of a hassel there must be a better way
