Better for what? "Better" is entirely dependent on video size and quality and where you intend to play. For making a regular menu'd dvd, you must convert to vob, no matter what the original format is.
mov is Apple's standard video
vob is the same as mpeg2 for dvds and are limited on dvds to less than 1GB to conform to standards (which is why you usually have several on a dvd).
