Files Deleted From CD

Ok. So, I save every piece of information I have onto CD, that way -- just in case, I have a back-up of whatever I want. I put my disc into the drive this morning, and there are three folders that I burned yesterday, while there really should be twenty-five/thiry folders.

Whats up with that?

re-phrase.

the files were already on the disc.

i burned three more.

and the rest disappeared.

how is that possible?

how is that possible?

are you sure you are doing it correct, are you sure you buring it as a data cd, and there is data in the source folders? what software are you using to burn?

i'm just using ... i dont even know.

just copy to disc -- whatevers on windows XP.

nothing special by any means.

ugh.

i've done it a million other times, with no problems.

yea i would try nero.
windows must just not be copying some of the files, when's the last time you had a reformat?

thats definitely out of the ordinary though...

nero never gives me problems and it can be bought cheap, after you burn it are you verifying that the data is on the disc and then it deletes? or do you just add 30 folders and when you pop it in it only displays 3?

 okay.

before i put the folders on last night -- all of the other ones were on.

my friend said that there was like, i don't know, two different sections on the disc and now it's only reading the second one. no idea what that means, but who knows.

said that roxio has a section selector.

Sometimes the multi-sessioning gets confuzzled and it won't show data that was burned in a different session. Try making a copy of the CD to another CD (preferably a CD-RW in case it doesn't work) and see if all the data appears.
