files deleted on my memory card and portable hd but the memory is still full

i have an i mac, buffalo ministation portable hd and a 2 gb sd card. i,ve deleted all files from both storage devices but that hasn't free,ed up any space. i can;t see any more files to be deleted. does any one know what i need to do in order to reclaim that lost memory.

It's the same as seen with portable camcorders that also use memory cards. Once you go to use it again you select the format option that will clear the card rather then still being seen as having something on it. You should see this type of option or refer to the user manual for additional instructions there on how to clear the memory.

sound like a bug on macs but a simple format will fix anything

There wasn't anything particular on how to see the memory card cleared or the drive reformatted for use with Windows. But they did provide something for Apple/Mac use when going to switch OSs. The best place is still going to be to review the user manual that comes along with it.
