Files missing on backup CD

Hi,
Recently I upgraded my PC and thus did a backup of all files (doc and pics). I used Nero and burned all files onto CD. After I backup, I checked the files on the CD and they were intact.

After 2 weeks, I require some files and could not any files on the backup CD at all. May I know what happened? and how do I retrieve those files that were burned onto the CD?

did you try the disk in another computer to see if the files are there? if so it's a problem with your cd drive or the drivers that control it most likely. If there's no longer data on the disk, you're probably screwed.
 
If you used the back-up option you'll need to ensure you have nero installed and choose to retrieve those files, but if you just made a data CD then the data may be corrupt.

Thanks for advice. I burn the files using NERO and the files were intact after I burnt onto the CD. Now that I need the files, my DVD rom could not read any content in the CD.

Any advice?
