I am new here but I have a little knowledge of computers. Something happened to my computer that has completely stumped me though.
I use my computer frequently for college and business and the weirdest thing happened last night. I used the computer at around 9:00 P.M. and when I went to use it at around 9:00 A.M. this morning I got on it and all of my files had been wiped completely clean and the computer appeared to have been factory reset.
I do however still have all of my programs (quickbooks, microsoft office, quicken, chrome, etc.)
I suspected a virus or malware so the first thing I did was scan the computer and it came up clean. No viruses or malware found.
I had almost everything backed up so the data loss was no big deal im just extremely curious as to how this happened. Any ideas?
