In your list on the first page, you have a socket 939 processor.....I would definately go for an AM2 socket processor, more future proof.
Already mentioned above.^^^^^^^^^

Having got space to have 5 speakers. Will be goin for a 2.1 setup, maybe even just 2.0. I will mostly be playing my online games with a headset. Can any1 recommend a good headset. Also can ppl plz recommend good speakers (2.1 or 2.0 setup only)

The conroe is intel's new chip, have AMD got anything in the pipeline to compete witht is. I know AM2 is out but are these chips ust more energy efficient. Do u think the new AMD chips wud be in my price range (if there are any coming out the same time as the Intel's)??

Or shud i just stick with the X2 3800 and wait for it price to drop?

im not that good with speakers, but def go with a 2.1 system, cause 2.0 system sounds like crap.

The X-530's smaller kin, the X-230, is exactly the same, but minus 3 surround speakers. As well it is cheaper. I know that you may be thinking "$30? what can be good for that price?" however, the X-530 (I own a set) is comparable to our home theater system in the living room (dual subs, 4 speakers with 15" bases, and a high quality center)!

yes it mite be more futureproof, but how much more is it. I was gona get an AMD 64 3700 but i have stretched to an X2 3800 coz u ppl said it wud be much better. Cant really go much further on my budget
