Final Fantasy XII

8 was crap, 9 was okay, 10 was horrible and that was the last one I played. I actually got up to the end of the game and got so bored with the characters and the plot line I didn't care to find out what happened.

I ended up beating it like months later just to find out the ending

Every character in those games are cliches these days. 7 was their last good one IMO. I am old school though, FF2 for SNES ( I think 4 japan) was probably one of the best, and FF3 for SNES was not bad either, espers ruled.

FF tactics was awesome, but once you got too powerful you could own anything. All my characters auto healed, dual wielded high end weapons, did 2x 9999 damage hits each per a round, and could teleport anywhere on the map.

I am hoping the Wii brings back the old style of game play that was harder, more story driven and better written, and did not rely on graphics to sell.

The PS3 and the Xbox 360 probably won't do this, since their main concern is "cutting edge" and not game play.

Yeah, 10 was probably the best one since 7 for me... The beginning and most of the game was quite fun (I liked blitzball a lot... :)), but when I got to the end, I really didn't have much interest in finishing it. :( But, now with my newly replaced PS2, I'll probably be getting XII.
