Finalizing my Build, please help!

Hey Guys! :D

I'm made quite a few posts in these forums regarding a new gaming pc I'm building. After much input I've come up with this:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/6LWRwP

(I actually buy all my parts from newegg.ca)

My main concern is the GPU. Is the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Superclocked ACX a good card for its price? If not, I'd love to hear suggestions of similarly priced cards that would be better. Also if there are any other glaring issue with the rig PLEASE let me know, and thanks a million! :D:D:D

edit: I also found this one: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487014
It's refurbished, but saves me some money. Would this be a good alternative?

Looks like a pretty good build. I would get a lower wattage PSU though to save some cash, 600W would work fine.

And the GTX 780 is a good card. I would get a R9 290 over it if the 290 was significantly cheaper though.

Thanks PCunicorn :) I think you are right about the psu, I will probably opt for something for a little cheaper.

Also, do you think it would be a good idea to get this refurbished GTX 780?

I don't know if it is as good as the one I originally picked...

Never buy refurbished laptops or harddrives, but a graphic cards are usually okay.
The reason the link don't work is because it's been shortened. It actually tries to send us to an URL with the ... in it.

Avoiding refurbished HDDs I can understand, but why do you recommend avoiding regurbished laptops?

So long as you have the appropriate plugs on your PSU already and you don't need instructions on how to install a graphics card and install some drivers, no.

Will that video card fit into the case you've selected?
Some reviewers say you should install it into a full tower.

looking good. Only thing i would changer personally is a better cpu cooler if you have the cash and are wanting to overclock. the hyper 212 is ok but if your wanting to get some decent oc's it may hold you back it a bit. the psu could probably be reduced to a 600-650w version as the 850w is a bit overkill unless your planning to put 2 cards in.

Thanks tylerjrb. Can you recommend any quality cpu coolers that would be better than the hyper 212?

Look at Noctua ones - or there's Thermalright ones that are also meant to be quite good.

I think those all in one type coolers like the H100 are good. You should be able to mount it at the top of the 300R if it supports fans at the top of the case.

If not you can get smaller ones like the H80, H60 and H50.

Well folks, I've taken into account everything you guys have said and have decided on the following:

Still haven't bought the parts, just making sure everything is sound!

Also wanted to say thanks again to you all, you've been very helpful and I don't know what I would do without this forum :)

edit: still open to suggestions though =)

This is an awesome build! :good:

But I would recommend getting the 250GB version of that SSD if you can. But if not, don't worry!

Looking really good. I have the h100i on my PC and it will not disappoint. If you can get some high performance corsair sp120 fans for it. They look a really nice are quieter and better performing. Nice build, enjoy!
