Well My dad Just Randomly Came home with a LCD screen, So i hooked it up and I must say... my CRF was So much better... i cant seem to get this LCD to be the right brightness either its too bright or too dark. it has to Auto Adjust its self when I start a game, the font Is my Biggest concern, its looks like absolute Crap! its Not smooth at all its jagged like something U
d see fromma 32mb video card. i find It vary hard to See and read and focus on.. vary Annoying, i know its not my computer settings i have them set for more better appearance over performance.. When i try to read small words and there jagged like they are i feel as if im 75 years old and Need a magnifying glass they also look blurry. any tips For improving this? i just want Smooth none jagged/blurry font.

I had similiar problems when I got my new pc, it has a 22 inch LCD so what I did was go to the display options and change the resolution to a lower setting. I don't know what to tell you about the brightness except to keep on trying to adjust it until it looks right.

Did you set the resolution to it's native? If it's not at the correct resolution then text and sharp edges will look horrible.

As others said, unless you use your monitors native resolution, you're not going to get great results. Also, if you're limited to VGA and not DVI, you'll probably loose some quality there. I've found monitors with DVI tend to have sharper pictures, sometimes tremendously sharper than those with onlg VGA. I've actually been using LCDs for quite a while now and I'd never go back to CRTs. Not unless I needed some super high resolution or something.

What size LCD is it, and is it widescreen or not?

Here is my general native resolution info for desktop LCDs

17" Wide manual recommends 1440x900 @ 60 hertz

So heres what i did. i went To 1440x900 but everything was to small font still vary jagged, So I up'd my DPI to 150%,(and @75hertz) now font Is pretty big as well as icons. however Almost all font looks none jagged, some like the Tabs on "display properties" are still small and jagged. This doesnt work For me As i dont like it All this big.

Screen is a hanns-G HW173D 17" wide TFT LCD

just did and I think that might have been it the whole time!, just give me a couple minutes here to Set it the way i want it and see if its good or not.
