i'm hoping this will all fit in it but if it doesn't i guess i'll just have to buy a cheap case.

How much do you wanna spend total? I noticed your total is $477, so I'll assume around $500. I'd be happy to come up with some better parts for you.

Well, that will take me to long to do, lol. But just take all of the demensions of everything you plan to stick in that ammo box. You would also have to do some fabricating so that it would hold your cd/dvd drive and hard drive. I think you can find the demensions of your mobo at newegg.com.

yes i have the dimensions of the mobo, thats why i went with that paticular one, and yes my budget is around $500, but i decided to cut back a tiny bit so shipping wouldn't push it too far over my budget.
and yes i knew i would need to fabricate brackets, but then i decided to just disect parts from an old computer case.

either that or hold some parts in with sticky back velcro (that stuff holds like none other)

the only thing i'm worried about is fitting the PSU (which i know i have to go with a different one since that has a weak 12v. rail) in there along with the mobo.

but yes a better parts list would be of great help.

I know you can do it, i mean, i stuck a whole computer in an xbox case, which is a lot smaller.
I am just curious, how thick is the metal on ammo box?

Ok. Intel came out with their Core 2 Duo CPU's today so AMD's prices will be dropping soon. I think we might be able to squeeze an X2 3800+ in your budget.

well that might be a tad bit overkill to me, but if u can do it for the price then why not i guess!

well, the metal is pretty thick from what i've heard from people, so i might just have to run most of the switches and plugs out the top of it so i can work with some thinner metal.

edit: i was doing some calculations and everything should fit fine in it, i'm just a little worried about airflow, but i guess i shouldn't be since i'll have 4 fans if u count the two on the psu

hmm, how much does the x800gto cost? Also, it'll be very hard to fit in the x2 3800+, so i think you should just stay where you are with the 3200.

Also, regarding your ammo box air flow. I would suggest you take a saw out the section where you want to put a fan, and stick in a fan grill, this way you'll have much better ventilation.

well i'm keeping it painted just as it is, and i'm going to be dremeling the fan holes , and probably going to either buy some grills or just cut out the hole into some sort of cool shape.

well with school starting soon here, i'm not going to have a whole lot of time, so i'm going to wait till december before i buy the parts then assemble it over the break.

well then you'll deffinetly get a new parts list, since those parts would be outdated in 5 months.

hmmmmm, thats a very good point......so either wait or assemble now......i could do either since i have the money now, but idk.
i think i might do it as soon as i convince parents to let me barrow the credit card.

Well, i have completely made up my mind, and i'm going to order it tommarow hopefully, all $492 of parts and around $20 for the saw ammo box.
