financial aid pays for laptop

So, when I get my financial aid for college, I'm going to have about $3000 to spend on a laptop. In your guys' opinion, what should I get? I love gaming, so obviously a bit of power in the video card. I don't edit video to much. May get into editing images. Really, for that price I'm wondering should I get a mac book? if so, regular pro or air? Or should I get a pc? Cause everyone knows you can get higher specs in a pc for the same price as a mac with lower specs.

Just make sure you read the fine print, cause you might be paying for it later after you graduate. Not talking from personal experience or anything :P Also what you might want to look into (fine print again) is does it limit you to just laptops and even just one laptop :P As a college student I get more done w/ my desktop than my laptop, and with that amount of money you could get a really nice desktop and a mediocre laptop.

They are loans that I will have to pay back. But it is simply money that I receive that I may use to pay for anything school related. I already have a very nice desktop, but would love to be able to work on a computer away from home. So, yeah. I've looked into the fine print and everything, I was just wondering what you guys recommended as far as what I should actually get. Thanks for replying.

You could put some of that money into buying textbooks. I've already spent about $600 this year on textbooks, and by reselling them I'm probably only going to get like $200-$300 back.

you have lots of money right there!
since your a gamer then its PC for your, I guess you can get a very nice gaming laptop for 1500usd which will give you extra 1500 for other school related things.
