I use that, and have been using that program for years. Best of any of them in my opinion. If you don't liek it you can google "MBM5" as that works well too.

Overclocking your video card does make it faster, but also hotter. If you are on stock cooling i don't suggest it unless the stock cooler is really large or really good. You cna overclock your particular card with the right drivers and a program called "coolbits" (its a registry tweak for nvidia based chips). It's pretty easy...but watch your temps.

To read your gfx card temps you need to install a probe, most gfx cardsdo not have a built in diode or any kind of sensor. CPU's and mobos almost always do if they are newer, that's what SpeedFan is for.

GF4s dont have temp monitors... you'll have to either make an educated guess based on CPU/Mobo or get a temp thingy :)

Means running the memory or core or both faster than it was originall rated for. In most cases, Ti4200 can clock to Ti4600s very easily :)

It'll help a bit but not an earth shattering amount?

i know absoultly nothing about cpu/Mobo and i have no idea what a temp thingy is, please elaberate

would this cpu/mobo thing be easy to learn for an ammature on videocards like me? I think my card runs hot and is reason i crash sometimes..

I am becomming confused with this card. I used to crash in this game df2 then i updated bios and i spent a while trying to crash the card unsucessfullly problem solved right? lol.. Well 2 days later all sudden its like it was before, crashing that game ( other games are fine) once it crashes once it will crash over and over until i stop running the game for a while. Sounds like a temp safety shut down problem right? But no porblems on other games, maby just poorly made df2..(as i recall it was a bit of a cold day when i updated bios)

Well as temp thingy would be what 4W4K3 was talking about when he said:

No. Video cards dont autoshutdown. They just downclock

how do i do the educated guess thing with the cpu/mobo? As i will probally update this card withen a cuple months at most so i dont want to spend money and time on trying to install something that i am clueless about..

How does vid.card temp now affect a new card's performance?
