Is this in your DVD Player for your TV or computer? a computer DVD Player plays both formats.

Then it should use both + and - DVD's

I havent seen a dvd writer that does but not the other

I have no idea why there are + and - ones. Read this on the difference between the two. What i mean to say was "I havent seen a dvd writer that does one of the types but not the other"

Different companies made there own formats. Any new DVD burner will almost always be +/- compatible.
