Actually, if you are a public figure, you are part of the public domain and such records as your stock options and where you make your money can be made public.
For instance, my mother is a speech and language pathologist for a public school district. This makes her a public figure. Every year one of the local newspapers publish what EVERY teacher in that district makes...
The same can be said for every other "public figure"...
I decided to look for ANOTHER "Bill"... and after about 5 minutes of googling I found a site (hint: Yahoo Finance) that lists "GATES, WILLIAM H. III: Declared Holdings".. Bill Gates owns 977,924,402 shares of MSFT stock.. at the time I am writing his stock is worth $23.712 ...that is a little over 23 billion dollars...
Anyway, if he or she is a public figure, their declared holdings are legally available.
