So I just finished building my first desktop computer ever.

The specs are:
3.1 Gigahertz Dual Core AMD Processor Athlon II
4 Gigabytes of DDR 2
A GA-MA785GM-US2H Gigabyte Motherboard http://us.test.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=3454 (Which works AMAZING by the way)
320 Gigabyte IDE Hard Drive (Yes I know I need a SATA Drive)
Onboard 4200 Radeon HD Graphics Card (It works for me at the moment, I can ax all setting in all of my games, I shall be buying a newer PCI Express video card soon
NZXT Computer Case
3 Computer fans

How does it all sound?

It scored a 4.3 on the WEI and is working fantastic so far!
I love it :D!

Opinions and criticism is welcome!:P

First of all, kudos for doing your first build. There is nothing quite like doing it yourself for the first time.

Those Athlon II's are nice little cpus. What OS are you running? Is this primarily for gaming?

There is nothing like it, and I'm running Windows 7. And it's not primarily for gaming, it's for anything, I code, game, socialize, and etcetra, just,, wahetever I need it for.

And what do you mean pics or it didn't happen? I have pictures.

For what you need it for it will certainly serve you well for some time to come. :good:

What kind of coding do you do?

I'm actually just getting into it, I took a C++ College Coding class online, (apparently I can't attend the actual class at 14), but I never really got into C++ so currently I have been working with PHP, HTML,CSS, and am just about to start learning some MySQL. ;) :D.

Good for you and I believe you just proved a point that you don't have to have the latest and greatest hardware components in order to have an effective system. Again :good:

Thanks for your support Slacker! I just ran Combat Arms and Halo both with max graphics and I had no lag whatsoever, with my onboard video card. I don't think I'll be needing a new Video Card for quite some time :).

You'll be eating your words soon enough :D Once the gaming bug bites you, you'll be upgrading whenever a new GPU comes out :P

Very nice build for your first. Mine was... a lot less nicer than your first one. :o

tho right now with the onboard graphics, it may be quiet...honestly first thing id do if it doesnt have a fan controller...buy one :) silence is golden if its not there already

Nice! Its a good little computer! Ill be starting a build like you as well this week. my parts come in on Friday and I will post the completed build on saturday!

The man speaks the truth! :D

Hmm, well I hope I don't get bit, but yeah, I probably will.
P.S.- My friend already has Crysis and I am going yo be borrowing it soon :).

And @above good luck to your new build too! :)D!

And what is a Fan Controller? Because I have three fans right now and they're all dead silent. Even when my CPU gets hot they speed up a bit, but I still hear nothing :D!
