Hey all this is on my mothers machine and its anoyin as rain
MoboECS L7VMM3
CPU AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Ram 256MB x 2 (1 is a cheap stick of DDR333, and the other is a stick of corsair mid grade DDR400 stuff)
HDD 40GB WD or Max i can't remember
VideoATI AIW 9600XT (mine LOL)
Optical Plextor PX-712A (also mine)

this is her e-mail

Ok here we go..........The name of the file that i can
not get off my computer is FireDaemon.exe It
slows up my start up because my windows program
catches it and says its a problem every time. i have
searched my computer numerous times and deleted all
the files that come up but somehow it stays in my
machine. Yes i even empty my recyle bin every time.
My MBM5 is nuts on the case montior button, it is
jumping wildly from 6 degrees to 42 degrees cel. how
ever the alarm has not gone off since we changed the
number to 60. I played a whole cd and it never went
off. The cpu went as high as 38 during the movie but
no higher. the air coming out the back is warm but
not hot. I can't remember what else you asked me for
so I'll end here.

Thanks
Mom

over the phone i had her set the MBM to alarm if the case temp hit 45*C and the processor at 60*C, gt off the phone and she got an alarm, so i had her pump the case alarm up to 60*C

she told me on the phone that at ilde its running the case at 12*C and the CPU at 36*C

i find it odd that the case temp is jumping as she says  when i was on the phone and had her restart the comp when MBM loaded it said the case was 98*C for a little bit then it droped to 12*C when i know for a fact that the case temp was no where near that high

and is there somthing she is missing to get that virus off the system?

thanks guys

what the hell r u mumbling about???
temp, virus, undeleted file...
can u pls sort thing out?
what is your Q? how can u delete a file that wont be deleted? or y her case temp is so high...
andawy... the best way to c if there is any kind of a problem is to enter the Bios and c what the temp there...
if the case temp is 90 so it most certain that your CPU temp is high as well...

anyway, tell us what u wanna know...?!

anyway... this is what i found on your file:
Description:
firedaemon.exe is an application running in the background allowing a user to install and run applications as a Windows NT or Windows 2000 service.

just find this service (start-programs-accessories-administrator tools-services) and from the properties put it as disable.

u can check msconfig for this app to stop her form loading with windows.

good luck dude

ok thanks

oh and the MBM problem seens to be a wild sensor on the Mobo, the cpu temp stays steady and tracks like it sould (hotter under load cooler at idle)
