Since everyone here says firefox is the way to go, I downloaded it to test it out. The fonts look weird and it seems too zoomed in. Is this normal?

Ok so the pictures dont really say much, but is there some sort of configuration on firefox to make the webpages look better?

Let me be the first.... Firefox is very customizable. You can make it big, small, menus disappear (F11). There are thousands of add-ons that will do all sorts of things. The default shows the basics. Don't try Chrome cos you'll wonder where the menu bar and all the rest went!

Try things like View / Toolbars select the toolbars that you want or customize. If you want thinner toolbars choose small icons and no text. You can zoom in and out etc.

Firefox has taken a step back....websites take ages to load, especially Java ones.

It freezes occasionally for no reason at all when opening a new tab etc.

I am going back to Chrome.

I like chrome better as well.

@dave1701- I think that firefox and IE use different fonts. If you go to edit -> preferences -> content tab. You can change the fonts and size to match what IE uses.

You can use CTRL + Scroll Wheel on the mouse to zoom in and out until it looks natural.

I've been using firefox for years and never had issues like the picture looks (assuming the screens are 1:1 of what you see)

The reason the text appears more blockier in Firefox is because there is no 'anti-aliasing' for the text itself. Microsoft implements their 'ClearType' font which smooths out the edges in the text. I'm sure the same setting is available in Firefox, if not by selecting another font and size by trying that out.

Also, if it appears too big, press Ctrl + 0 to reset the zoom level, or zoom out slightly to make it smaller... Firefox is a great browser, although I am using Opera now for the time being because its 'awesome bar' isn't so awesome...
