Firefox crashing on startup and restarting

I actually got rid of that driver booster last night. I just tried it out

The Baidu folder just has a conf.db file. Not sure where that came from but I deleted that folder

I've heard of the veggie addon before but not sure where it comes from at this point. As long as everything is fine, make your backup now.

Just a follow up: Computer is running strong yet. No firefox issues. I def think this was mostly a bad hidden addon and bad cookies.

Just the other day my GF complained about pop-ups on her laptop. She also has firefox and adblocker but, just had MSE. I hadn't installed Mbam yet on hers. So I installed MBAM which, found a bunch of things. And ran CCleaner and showed her how to run it on a regular basis. She was having "Deals" banners popping up on nearly every shopping site. Plus had random program folders with .dll's.

Now her's is running top notch and hopefully mbam will keep her away from bad sites. She has a bad habbit of trusting just about any site. She wont admit but, I know she does this "get paid for your survey" type sites. Yes she has gotten paid in gift cards a few times but, the junk mail she gets all the time you wouldn't believe.

Also made a backup of her laptop with Paragon just in case she infects it beyond repair.

Next time she is going to pay for a repair :P

VeggyAddon

I suffered from this piece of Malware/Adware/Virus whatever. having found it, deleted the affected files. They returned!. Examined each file in turn using notepad. One file had entry "..official Firefox helper ...." another (.js script) had "HOME OWNER" in the text (???), very suspicious. Also noted that Chrome was covered by another set of similar files.
If this is Firefox 'helper' programme no need to know I am a Home owner - and why include Chrome?
If a Firefox programme, after deletion of the VeggyAddon folders, they should reappear with a complete removal/reinstall of Firefox - they didn't! File reappeared over the next 24 hours. Altered the content of the files and made them read only. Fresh set of files appeared under a directory called Staged (?). Many protection programmes found the files, biut only deleted the VeggyAddon files.
These anti virus programmes included AVG, McAfee, JRT, Exterminate It! Two days later still trying to get rid of this bug, tried Exterminte It! again (new download of data files) - FOUND IT! deleted all the VeggyAddon files and some others[
There were references to VeggyAddon in the (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software…) to data called FunMoods (don’t know what this is) and a Trojan JS,Hotfixer – looks like the culprit.
The bug has gone now and not returned for three days! Whoopee!
