firefox problem with adress and search bar

1st of all i had reinstalled Firefox but no results and i have googled but no results.

problem:
all started when ive installed F**** yahoo messenger.
one week ago when i hadn't yahoo messenger, when i typed in the adress bar something ex: the new windows vista release date; then when i clicked go firefox searched on the google. but now it searches on the yahoo.(and i really really hate yahoo; we all know that every body loves google, our friend)
i have uninstalled all the yahoo apps but still nothing.
any suggestion?
 
look under the settings, i've been using opera lately but i think there is a setting somewhere where you can change your default search engine i'd try there first, i'm sorry i don't know where exactly it is.
