i have been using firefox web browser for about 2mths now. i was wondering if its ok to uninstall internet explorer if you use firefox. or do i need to keep it installed, atleast ?

Not sure you can uninstall it, Windows Updates needs Internet Explorer.

well, since i need it for update, do i need the upgraded version for security reasons?or is ie6 ok, if thats all i'll use it for?

Yeah should be fine until they decide to force you to update to it

Keep it, some programs opens themselves in IE only and some websites work on IE only...

Always a good idea to keep it. Just delete the shortcuts and you'll never know it is there until a program (updates, msn, etc) opens it on their own.

If you come across a website that must be opened in Internet Explorer, to open it:

1) Start -> Run...
2) Type iexplore and press ENTER
3) Navigate to the website again.
