Firefox question

How do I get Firefox to save downloading files automatically? it use to do it but now it does not. Now it always asks if I want to save it or open it. There is a check box that will allow me to "remember my choice" for the file type I am downloading but its disabled.

tools>options>content>filetypes> manage> chanfe the action for files

The file type I need to modify is not listed. Its a .rar file.
