I Can't Believe how much of a Resource hog FireFox is...

I Mean, Its a Excellent program by all means.

Choose it over IE Anyday.

But the Resource Stealing is massive for a Browser.

100+ Megabytes of Ram being Used!

yay! my thread~~~

Look at how many TABS you have up. Each tab is like one browser. Just integrated into one window for your convinience.

The tabs/cache explanation makes sense to me.

There are also many reports of a memory leak associated with Firefox, and there are reports of the memory leak being a rumour.

Do a web search for "firefox memory leak" to find some pages about this.

I often have to laugh, my girlfriend will look over at me (our desks are side by side) twitching from the frustration of slow webpage rendering, "Are you downloading?" "Nope." And as I look over she has like 20 tabs open. All I can do is shake my head. She doesn't think that that has anything to do with the slow browsing.

haha, Munkyeetr, I feel you man, I HAVE DIAL UP. We cannot get ADSL in our area.. sucks bad.

Haha, i enjoy having my 32 Computer forum tabs open thanking you very much oscaryu1 :D

Oh well. i still claim its a memory hog... as this image is correctly named XD

I think the Yahoo toolbar for IE has a tab place like firefox... why not get Ie up, install yahoo toolbar, get 32 tabs up and compare memory :D?

Haha, I just hate the look and "Feel" Of it... it seems wierd and gay...

Oh well, everyone is entitled to there own views on things...

I actually like the IE theme. I have IE7 theme for firefox right now. Really the only thing I like about it is being able to open tabs by clicking the little mini-tab to the right of your far right tab. Now that I can do that in Firefox I'm happy. If you guys can tell me how to get this without the IE7 theme, that would be much appreciated.

100mb of ram isn't much if you have 2gb of ram.
It's a ton for a browser. Firefox has always been a resource hog though. I like IE7 over Firefox, sure there is stuff with IE that they haven't fixed yet but FF has it's own problems. Open 4 tabs in IE7 and 4 tabs in FF2. Then minimize both browsers and look at the memory usage.

Mozilla's KB has a thing about reducing Firefox's usage: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Reducing_memory_usage_(Firefox)

There is a program add-on for FF that lets you view all your tabs in mini thumbnails, if that's what you mean? I think it's calls tab catogory or something like that. Very nice. I love it! I'll post it when I get home for ya.

I just thought it was a huge amount for a browser...

It's not that much of a problem as i have plenty of ram to spare.

The most i got it up to last night was using 180mb haha i had 32 Tabs open :P :D
