FireFox Trying To Connect To Internet

Whenever I use firefox when connected to the internet via a different computer, firefox always asks to connect to internet.

Screenshot:

This is very irritating as pages stop loading when the connection prompt comes up.

I cannot find any settings to turn this off.
I have seen many site saying go Tools > Options > Advanced and turn auto connect off but there isn't one.

FireFox: 2.0.0.10

Thanks in advance.

Go to tools>options>network for automatic or manual settings there. Simply setting it to manual without a working configuration will disable it from connecting online. Otherwise you have to set it to remember the user name/password information with the password manager to automatically connect without prompting.

Meanwhile I saw a security alert come up on the site there.

Thanks for quick reply, I did what you said and it didn't work.
About setting it to remember the user & pass, I am already connected to the internet when this happens, so I cannot connect again. I actually tried this before, when it didn't connect, the pages still didn't show up.

Thanks anyway.

PS. Whats with the security alert?

The alsert came up when clicking on the thumbnail you posted of the image. That's part of web security feature included in Spyware Terminator when you choose the Crawler Toolbar there. For each site you can mark it safe or unsafe when prompted. That can also be annoying at times.

I don't see why these should be viruses and the other stuff, I took the screenshot, Photoshoped it and uploaded to Imageshack.

That wasn't anything from Imageshack that brought that up but the doubleclick.net warning there. I'm still trying to figure where that came in. I've been using Imageshack for quite some time and found it completely free of any bugs. In fact that was used to upload the screenshot of the message seen there. My guess would be the active x control for the ad seen on Imageshack's logon page triggering the alert.

Well, I have also got the same experience when connecting to the internet through a dial-up connection. What I did was disabling the dial-up connection in IE setting (eventhough I was using Firefox as my browser at that time), and it worked, i only needed to enter username & pw once, when i was about to dial-up the connection.
I guess you know how to disable the dial-up connection, don't you, f.i.t.h?
IE>Tools>Internet Options>under Connections Tab, check Never dial a connection>Apply>Ok.

I realise that somehow they're not really connected, FF and IE, but it worked on me, so I guess it worths trying.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick.
Now I'm one step closer to stop using Opera.
