Firefox: Updated

What is so bad, dragon, compared to FF1.5 (which admittedly was not the best release)? Keeping in mind that this is a beta and things like Alt+S may change. I'm personally liking the new look, and the new features are handy. The only bad thing is damn memory usage -- fix the stupid memleaks already!

It scares me to think people are wondering back to IE  At least give Opera a try before you go that far ;)

Things would have to get quite bad for me to ever try opera... but ok. And what is so bad, well for one the interface, there was once a time when F was just an app, a normal user interface with good functions that worked amazingly well. Now its SILLED with bugs, the interface keeps looking more like a mac every single day (something which i despise becasue EVERY company is doing it, if i see any more of those Aero button thingies im gonna scream).

I know its just a beta but c'mon, step the game up a little bit firefox. As i said before, its not just IE i would go back to its IE7, something which is proving to be a worthy candidate for FF's title anyway.

I just might try Beta2 on my tester machine or something eventually, but I totally agree with Dragon. I have 1.5 on my computers now because I know it doesn't have the little issues the later ones have. The last few versions have some very odd problem with keyboard commands and typing apostrophes... And noone better say it's my freakin computer because my last 3 desktops had the problem, my laptop had the problem, and grandparent's machine! Oh, and some of my online friends have complained about it...

installed the new beta, looks good, the tabs that are not in use fade out which is handy and the buttons look better. apart from that i cant tell the difference ;)

also, a feature i have just found is that the search utility on the top right of the browser has a text completer.

I wonder if what we're seeing is what this firm designed? Or at least an early stage of it? Can't be... the only difference is a "web 2.0" shine added :|

Doesn't really matter to me either way since Firefox has theme support. What I care about is functionality.

As for IE7 -- yes it's an improvement, but... I'm just bias I think, being a web developer means I inherently loathe IE for it's non-standards support. I will grudging give it a try when it goes 'gold'.

oh god web 2.0...theres another buz term I don't need to hear again.

Honestly, IE7 is pretty good. They are getting much better for supporting standards and it has a very good memory footprint.
