I've never had this problem but it could easily be fixed by closing Firefox and re-starting it. This might also include canceling Firefox.exe to close all open browsers.

If that doesn't work then you might try cleaning the cache under tools, clear private data, select all (this most likely has nothing to do with your problem) just a troubleshooting step.

Hmm that's really strange. I suppose maybe the registry got messed up some how (no clue). Try running a registry cleaner if you have one you regularly use. I wouldn't recommend just downloading one and using it, make sure you know your stuff.

Uninstall firefox
go here %appdata%\Mozilla and delete the firefox folder.
and go here C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Mozilla
and do the same
now reinstall firefox.
easiest way to go to the above paths is to hit Win Key + R which will bring up the run prompt and just paste the exact path (with the %'s) and do that with both of them

If your main drive is not C then change it to to whatever but it should be C.

I have a similer problem, except every time I click on a search result or link it always opens in a new tab and it's really anoying. I read the latest firefox version has been acting weird with this kind of thing.

First of all close the mozilla firefox , and open it again ,
if you are still getting same issue .
Try to uninstall the mozilla firefox , and install it again .
i am sure that this will solve your issue .

I had a different problem with Firefox and the only thing that helped was completely uninstalling it, bookmarks and all, then running CCleaner, then reinstalling.

I'm sorry to hear of this because Firefox has been reliable for me for years. No, I don't work for them, I just got tired of IE once and for all. I read inside forums about Firefox and how much faster and more efficient. After successfully using it for years and sharing with my Friends, this is the first I'm hearing about this.

I do like gamerman4's advice and I'll also look into the issue. You never know, I may be next!

EDIT*

I assume it's installed on the PC in your sig? What version of Firefox?
