I had some problems with firefox after my last windows install.. it worked fine at first, but then suddenly the download manager would not come up when i downloaded. I would call it up from the tools bar, and it wouldnt show anything downloading. There on the desktop would be the little .part icon for the downloading thing, and it would apparently get done (icon turns into the install thing) and... its not complete or its corrupted. So recently i switched to Moziller, and i completely forgot that i might be able to ask you guys to help me. I just want to be able to use firefoxey again.
PS. I have reinstalled FF like 20 times... and all my other browsers download perfectly.
 
reinstalling firefox plainly usually doesnt fix anything since the settings are usually unchanged, what you might have to do is go uninstall firefox first. Then go to (assuming you use windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Mozilla and delete the firefox folder if it is there. Then make sure the folder for firefox is gone from the Program Files folder and then install FF.Hope this works.
 
just make sure you back it up incase it doesn't work and you don't want to lose all your settings/previous bookmarks for nothing...

I had that problem with a win98 box about a year ago, but the cpu fried and I havn't bothered to fix it so I don't know!
