I just got rid of McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006, which firewall shal I get, I don't care if I have to buy it, I want a state-of-the-art firewall...

Is Kerio WinRoute Firewall 6 good for my PC or is it for servers?

to me, they all pretty much do the same thing. /QUOTE]

They do! Either they block ports or they do not block ports there is no such thing as state of the art firewall. You do however want one that will block unwanted outbound traffic as well as inbound.

Once you find one you like you can test it out here to make sure it is working.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add a question to this one, since it's along the same line. Hope you don't mind.

After upgrading to the new ZoneAlarm (free) version, which never did install properly, I was without Internet access for 3 days on my laptop. I'm not eager to reinstall it, as you might expect, so here's my question; if I have WinXP, do I need to use another firewall? At home, I use a Linksys cable modem and Linksys wireless router. At work, I go thru a corporate firewall. Do I need more?
