Zone Alarm ROCKS, A lot of fire walls don't care when Windows tries to connect to the internet, but zone alarm knows that M$ Windows is Spy Ware!

Meh, I prefer a hardware solution-- a Pentium or PII- class machine with Smoothwall or other dedicated linux-based firewall OS. Gives older machines a purpose in life and it isn't all bloated and dependant upon a known problematic and security-weak OS.

But that's my opinion. :P

I don't know, thats exacly what I didn't like about Zone Alarm, it doesnt have a trusted programs list of it's own and also it doesnt support foreign languages.

out of the two i would choose macafee, because i dont know anything(havent even heard of it) about the other one, and i dont trust what i dont know.

but i like avg because it has always come through for me when macafee, and norton cant. And its also free

Out of those two in the poll I would choose Mcafee only becuase i've never heard of the other one. At the moment I use Zone Alarm becuase it's cheap and effective :)

Do you think SmoothWall is as good as a McAfee firewall?

Well, like I said... McAfee has to run on Win whereas Smoothwall is part of a minimized Linux... no unnecessary components installed and therefore much fewer potential holes for bad guys to sink their hooks into.

I've never used McAfee firewall, but I have used ZoneAlarm am much happier with my smoothwall appliance over that product.

My opinion-- Smoothwall is better than McAfee.
